We believe a workspace you trust with your work shouldn't follow you around the web. This policy lists every cookie and similar technology Klaie uses, and why.
1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how [Klaie legal entity name] ("Klaie", "we") uses cookies and similar technologies on the Klaie website, in the Klaie web app and in the Klaie Call browser extension (the "Service"). It supplements our Privacy Policy.
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Local storage and extension storage are similar browser features that keep small amounts of information on your device. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of them.
2. The cookies we use
We use only two kinds of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies, which the Service can't work without, such as the one that keeps you signed in.
- Preference cookies, which remember a choice you made, such as dark mode.
All of them are first-party: they're set by Klaie, on Klaie's own domain, and are used only by Klaie.
| Name | Type | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-…-auth-token (may be split into numbered parts) | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in securely. Set on Klaie's domain by our authentication provider, Supabase. | Until you sign out, or up to 400 days |
| sb-…-auth-token-code-verifier | Strictly necessary | Protects sign-in with Google or Microsoft, and sign-in links sent by email, against interception. | Until that sign-in completes |
| klaie_org | Strictly necessary | Remembers which organization's workspace you're using, so the right permissions apply. Cleared when you sign out. | 1 year |
| klaie_oauth_nonce | Strictly necessary | Protects the process of connecting Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 against forged requests. | 10 minutes |
| klaie_theme | Preference | Remembers whether you chose the light, dark or system theme, so pages open in it without a flash. | 1 year |
| klaie.sidebar (local storage) | Preference | Remembers whether you collapsed the sidebar. | Until you clear it |
Shared links opened without a Klaie account set no cookies of their own. Tools that Klaie builds run in a sandbox that can't read or set cookies or browser storage.
3. Security checks by our providers
To protect Klaie and its users, two of our providers may run security checks in your browser:
- Bot protection on sign-up. When we turn it on, Cloudflare Turnstile runs in a small frame on the sign-up page to check that a person, not a bot, is creating the account. It looks at technical signals from your browser and device for that check only, under Cloudflare's privacy policy, and isn't used for advertising.
- Hosting protection. If our hosting provider, Vercel, needs to confirm that traffic is coming from a real browser, for example during an attack on the Service, it may set a short-lived security cookie.
4. What we don't use
- No analytics or performance cookies.
- No advertising, retargeting or social-media cookies or pixels.
- No session recording, and no fingerprinting to track you.
- No third-party scripts that could set cookies of their own, apart from the sign-up check described above.
5. The Klaie Call browser extension
The optional Klaie Call extension doesn't use cookies. It keeps one thing in your browser's extension storage, the list of sites where you've paused it. While you share a tab in a Klaie call, it also sets a random identifier on that page that only Klaie's own pages can see. Our Privacy Policy explains what the extension does and doesn't do.
6. Other websites
When you sign in with Google or Microsoft, or connect Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, you're briefly taken to that provider's website, which sets its own cookies under its own policy. When Klaie's browser agent visits websites for you, it does so from Klaie's servers or a cloud browser, not from your browser, so those sites can't set cookies on your device.
7. Your choices
Strictly necessary cookies don't need consent, because the Service can't work without them. Our preference cookies only store a choice you made yourself and are never used to track you. That's why we don't show a cookie banner. If we ever add cookies that need your consent, we'll ask for it first and update this policy.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you won't be able to sign in. If you delete the theme cookie, Klaie will use the theme saved in your settings until you choose again. Because we don't track you, there's nothing for Global Privacy Control or "Do Not Track" signals to switch off.
8. Changes
If the cookies we use change, we'll update this policy and the "last updated" date above.
